C6 Convertible Power Top

Has anyone had trouble with power top not wanting to close after having the top down for over night periods? If so let me know. The fluid level is topped off! The water fall raises but the top won't come up. Had to use relief valve on pump to get the top up.

i wonder if there are any solenoid valves and limit switches in this system...

seems from your description that is is multi staged..


perhaps posting an exact year.. so i might narrow it down.. make searching the wiring diagrams easier..

i worked on one of the most complex convertibles..  a 63 thunderbird retractible..   one pump.. seven relays.. 2 solenoid valves..  4 electric motors..   4 hydraulic rams..  i don't even remember how many limit switches..    probably 4...   it was called relay logic...  if the switch was in position A... it tripped the relay and reversed the current flow through it..    

i don't have much on the C6's for wiring .. ... please post a year.. i will take look around to try to find the proper info..


did you get rid of the brake squeak?????    what was it..  

I am still dealing with the brakes squeal, it happens most of the time in high humidity and heat! Ironic(I live in southern Alabama).

My vette is a 2005.

you will really need to print all six of these diagrams inorder to get an idea of how everything kinda works...

you really need to NOT probe anything with a conventional test light..   ONLY computer safe test lights..
