Supervisor Nelson is honored to announce that Sunday, August 29th has been selected as the date for the Cpl. Claudio Patino memorial event to raise cigars and care-package products that will be sent to Claudio’s Marine Scout-Sniper squad in Afghanistan. The El Dorado High grad perished in combat operation in the Helmand
Province on June 22nd.
The “Cigars from Heaven” event will be hosted by and at Vintage Cigars, 3734 S. Bristol, Santa Ana, 92704..and is designed for those who want to drive-by and donate any amount of money or care-package goodies to help the Patino Family..or…purchase or bring a single, box or bundle of cigars that the Supervisor will arrange to be sent to Patino’s platoon in Afghanistan by Fedex as part of Shawn’s ‘delivering for heroes’ coalition.
Special thanks to Robbie Saoud, owner and manager of Vintage Cigars and John Dade, of OC Corvettes and the legendary “Corvette Mike’ who will attend and help promote the event. A formal flyer-invite with map directions is following shortly.
Citizens, military veterans and active-duty, police, fire and medical, El Dorado HS alum as well as cigar aficionados of every cigar store in OC in addition to dependents of all branches on the armed forces are all welcome to this free event to honor the memory of Corporal Patino and Army Staff Sergeant Marc Arizmendez, of Anaheim, who also gave the ultimate sacrifice in defending America.
Those unable to attend on August 29th can send same to: VFW Claudio Patino Memorial Fund, PO Box 696, Atwood, Ca 92811-0696.
