77 Vette Coupe Electrical Problem

I purchased a 1977 Corvette Coupe on July 8, 2010. Vette is in great shape mechanically except for a slight electrical problem. When I apply the brakes, both in-dash turn indicators light-up. When I try to use the turn indicators, they don't operate at all, neither do the emergency flashers. All other lights (headlights, brake, back-up, taillights) work as they should. Where do I start troubleshooting this problem?
