I've got a 75 L-82 T-Top Coupe that Iv'e been driving on and off for the past 20 yr or so. When I got it the engine had been recently "tricked out". It has all the original numbers (engine / trans/body) but a racing cam, headers, high rise manifold and I'm sure some internal boreing & stroking were included. It runs like a scalded dog!!. Blows away 5 L Mustangs, and most all foreign sports cars (except for the "exoctic ones"). It looks like it's putting out somewhere around 400 hp as it will do the quarter mile in around 5.4 sec and 110 mph.
I haven't driven it for the past 3 yr or so and now I've got some time on my hands to do a liile restoration. The car looks GREAT but un fortunately time has taken its toll on things like the radiator, brake callipers, Power steering actuator etc etc. was wondering if the car was worth putting the time and $ into or should I be looking at something newer to be able to just turn the key and drive. Any insights ??????

I purchased a 76 L-48/4 speed Stingray a little over a year ago.The car had been sitting under a tree for 5-6 years.Everything on the car was shot or worse.Yours sounds alot better than I had to deal with. But with every new part I put on the car the excitement mode increased.I just recently dropped a 383 stroker(425hp/460ftlbs)two weeks ago.I guess if I were you I would just ask myself the question of how much the car means to you and would you want to restore it to what you want it to be.all in all I have placed 185 new parts on my 76,and I have done it all my self from the complete suspension to the interior light bulbs, and loved every minute of it.I sincerely hope this comment helps with your decision. bmj
