I have a 1975 corvette that I am restoring. There is a toggle switch under and at the base on the right side on the climate control underneath. Can anyone tell me what this is? Thanks in advance.

Just getting back to the post, yes, it does look like it goes to the A/C compressor circuit. Can you tell me what activates it? Looks like there is no control arm when you move the control.
Thanks

got pictures????? can you post them on one of the picture post sites... then paste the links here on this thread???
the heating and A/C systems are covered in all the factory manuals...
after market manuals.. like mitchell and chiltons professional editions are covered in the heating and ac systems books...
i am still confused by your description of the switch... is it built into the back of the climate control... or is it an additional switch added by another owner...
i don't have any C3 manuals... i know i have some AC manuals.. but they are in storage as i only open them about once a decade.. reprints of factory manuals are under 50 bucks.. cd copys are available also
some pictures.... wire colors... better description. might really help... since it seems i am almost alone in answering the hard questions..
http://www.faxonautoliterature.com is one place that i know of...
i will take a look through some of the books not in the storage locker.. i have manuals back through the early 50's that will fill my shop shelfs someday..

I think I got what it is. After I put everything back together (New climate control, cables, heater core ect) I reinstalled it. It appears to be a hidden enging kill switch. It is accessable when you remove the ash tray and in the on position the engine will not start. Even the previous owner did'nt know what it was. I never noticed it until I had everything pulled out so I could'nt see what it did until everything was back together.
Thanks for all.
Jim
