I've got the trans in and mounted. Any help on the wiring (4 prong square plug) for the automatic overdrive?

the 4 prong plug is for the torque converter clutch.. you are going to have to change your brake light switch... to a 4 terminal version... used on later cars.... as the upper 2 terminals are used to unlock the tcc clutch.. so it unlocks when when you touch the brake pedal...
the most important thing before you drive it... did you get the throttle valve cable carb lever extension???? the 200r4 and 700R4 use carbs or throttle bodys with a slightly longer lower arm on the carb...
since the angle to pull ratio is critical... you may burn up the trans if this is not done...
this is the best description i can find...
Pin A is +12v source. Pin B is 4th gear switch (TH700R4). Pin C is N/C Pin D is Ground to Computer <- this is what the computer activates the TCC with.
Pin A should have 12 volts at all times, unless the brake pedal is pushed (the 12v source runs through a brake switch). Pin B tells the computer when the transmission is in 4th gear. If you're going to not run a computer, leave this one disconnected - or don't find anything to connect it to. Pin C has no wire. Pin D is the TCC solenoid ground - the computer kicks the TCC in and out by leaving this open (cuts out) or by grounding (cuts in).
You can get a special 4th gear switch to replace the one that's in the transmission (N/O vs. N/C), and run your "Pin D" wire direct to it (the switch will ground the wire through the switch when closed). All you have to do is run a power source to the TCC (the one you have now will do fine).
it is important that you read up on this... as you won't like it when you torque converter will not unlock when you get to a stop sign... or if you don't hook up the torque converter clutch.. you may find the transmission runs too hot...
i hope that you have thought about the largest remote trans cooler that you can install... and a locking style transmission dip stick... as once in a great while... the 700 will push the dipstick out and blow fluid out.. the locking dipstick and tubes are available through most automatic transmission parts sellers...
i am not trying to scare you away from the 700R4... just letting you know that there are a few things that you have to do to properly enjoy it..

I am doing a 700R4 into a '79. what are you going to do for a shifter???? I need positive stops on the shifts and don't want to destroy the console.

you might find a bunch of other articles on this link

i have done some 700 installs in other cars... mostly if i cannot get an proper shift detent... i just set it up to have park in the right position... reverse neutral line up.. drive becomes overdrive.. and 2nd becomes drive without overdrive.. low becomes 2nd gear.. you just cannot reach low without mods to the shifter... which is what you want to avoid..
electric shifters are also available..
