Does the L81 have a steel crank and the other necessities to build up the engine; particularly can it handle a supercharger, or should I just put this engine to the side and buy a crate engine ( not really in the budget ). I am just wondering what if anything I should do to this engine in order to get the biggest bang for buck. Should I have my current heads machined, or buy aftermarket heads? I finally got enough money together to get my first vette, and I want it to be fast. Unfortunately, I have the L81 with 190 hp. I dont mean to sound arrogant or ungrateful, I just dont have a lot of money to throw around and want to get the biggest bang for my little bit of bucks. If anyone has experience with this engine, or similiar engine, please give me an idea as to what the best way to approach my L81. Thanks.
