I just help my son purchase a '91 Corvette with a targa top. It is a beautiful black and a second owner car, a previous Corvette owner. I decided to take the top off, for a trip to the lake, but now, can't get it back on. The front bolts will not line up enough to get them started. They are off, by at least half the size of the bolt. I had a friend try to push the top to line the bolts up, but seem to can't get it to budge. I know, once when I get the top back on, I will not take it off, again. It was nice to drive with it off, but if I have this much trouble to put it back on, then I will not take it off. Is it maybe, it is not sitting on level ground. My driveway is gravel, not paved. Any help, will be greatly appreciated

The car needs to be on level ground to have the top line up. I found this out on my brother's stone driveway.

Also lay a blanket on your floor to protect the top, then lay it in a warm area upside down for a couple hours. It will stretch out.
