My father-in-law passed away last month and we wish to sell his prized corvette. It is mint condition, as you might imagine with the low mileage. I thought getting involved with true Vette lovers would be the best advise I could get.

You would want to advertise a low-mileage 50th Anniversary Vette nationally. One of the best ways to do this would be via Hemmings Motor News. Hemmings is pretty much the bible of the collector car industry. You can place a hardcopy ad in their monthly magazine and/or place the ad online. The classified rates are lower if you subscribe to the magazine. For info, go to hemmings.com.
Check the website of The National Council of Corvette Clubs (corvettesnccc.org) for a list of corvette clubs. Send info about your vette to as many clubs as possible. Some of the clubs will let you place an ad for free.
If you are not in a great hurry to sell the car, and if you are close enough, take the vette to the CORVETTES AT CARLISLE event in Carlisle PA, 28-30 AUG 09. It's the greatest collection of corvette nuts in the world. You can rent a space in the car corral, or you can enter the car in the auction. Contact the promoters at 717-243-7855.
However, if you're smart, you won't sell the vette. You'll keep it and come to love it just as much as your father-in-law did. I know, it's a two-seater and there's no room for the kids! That's the best part!
My sister sold her low-mileage 50th Anniversary vette and she has regretted it ever since. She wishes they had sold her husband's Cobra instead (it's only a replica). Good Luck!
