car got wet. now wont run

HELP! I have a 1996 collectors edition. LT1. Last week I ran it through a car wash.. ( no brushes) and opted for the under carriage spray. washed the car, pulled forward and dried it off. started the car and pulled out into the street and the car started to sputter then quit. I figured maybe something got wet so I coasted to side of road, lifted hood. not much I could work on on the side of the road with no tools so I had it towed home. a couple of days later the car started and ran great for 2 days. Then a strange noise up in the passenger side dash area.. (could be just in front of firewall).. sounded like a small knock or heavy click. not constant though. just every now and then.  Then about 5 miles later the car died and will not start again. Acts like it is not getting fuel.  

I made the mistake of quarter car washing my '94 LT1 same thing happened. Wet Optispark. I squirted all engine electrics down with WD40 let it set overnight and it came back to life with no problem since.
