I am restoring a '78 Vette and I am having the hardest time locating a replacement 5 Amp Instrument Lamp Fuse. I have tried several auto parts stores to no avail. Any suggestions on where a I can find a replacement fuse without purchasing an entire fuse kit?

Refresh my memory, is that a glass fuse or a blade type?

Wow, I'm surprised you can't find one at the local parts store. I worked for Autozone when I was in school, I remember we used to have all of those.
If you can find a ten amp fuse that'll also work. You might also try Ecklers to see if they sell the specific fuse for the instrument cluster.

You might also try Carquest, Napa, or Parts Plus as the ones in my area keep those in stock or else they can order you a 5 pack tin for about $5.00. I 'll also give you a little tip don't use the ten amp in a five amp situation especially in an older vette aswiring insulation does have a tendency to break down over the years and being an Electro Mechanical Engineer with a Masters degree I know what happens when a fuse is overated, even by five amps! You can get the damndest little fire under your dash you ever thought about and burning fiberglass is not easy to put out!!!

P. S. I was a Lieutenant in a paid City Fire Department and an Arson Investigator for ten years while I was going to college at night for my Masters Degree
Corvette's Should only come in "Torch Red" (U1U)
