Hi, My power window, mirror adjust and door lock will not function on the passenger side. (2001 C5 Corvette) I checked all fuses and were ok. What else should i be looking for? Thanks, JP.

sounds like a short, loose, or broken wire.

I have the same problem, passenger door with no power, with my 2002 C5 coupe.  I replaced both related fuses of the passenger side and still no power. Is there a relay for the passenger door side that controls all power?  In my case, I can adjust the passenger side mirror, but not the window or locking/un-locking the door. Is there another fuse that I may have missed?  I replaced two in the fuse panel at the passengers foot well.

I have more info on my 2002 C5 passenger door no power issue.  I checked all fuses involved and still not working.  I bumped the door and fuse panel with my hand to see if the "FONZE" method may work, but still not fixed. No wires seem to be frayed on the exterior of the door.  Is it possible for the power window to rub on the electrical wires inside the door?  Can anybody suggest a particular connector that I should check?  The first time the power failed on the window, it was a partial failure and then it started working again.  But now it is still not working and the weather is getting wetter and colder with the window down 2 inches.  Can anybody help?

The problem is a short in the harness between the doors. Hard to work On. I have the same issue. Its from door opening and closing. When I wiggle the according rubber in between while pressing door down, it stops and goes...I also have the gages on the whole dash lighting up and going to O . and message says losing power, radio goes off, all gages off...lights up the dah like a christmas tree...car still runs...stop the car...wiggle the harness in side the door jam. all goes back on.
mechanic asked me if anyone knows the color of the wire for the window..? My car is a C-5 2000 automatic coupe....Thanks

you are not going to like to hear this... but its all computerized....  by looking at the wiring diagrams for the 2000 vette over at autozone.com...

REPAIR INFO  2000 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 5.7L SFI 8CYL REPAIR GUIDE  WIRING DIAGRAMS   DOORS 2000   DOOR CONTROL MODULE SCHEMATICS

there are 2 diagrams for each door... plan on printing them...

there are probably only 3 wires for the door ....      power, ground and data transfer...   yes... the data system controls everything.. and when there is a short... it takes out the data stream and blanks out everything...    at least the forward thinking people have several separate data streams...  the engine is on one... and a fast data stream...   the air bags are on another fast data stream... and the rest of the car is on a third...

working on this system will require a CAN enabled scan tool... and data probes...   if you probe the wrong wire...  you might let the smoke out of the system...

i have not had to repair the wiring to the doors on any yet...  but i would advise... disconnecting the battery.. removing the door panel and what ever trim you need to get to the body side of the door jam... so you can unplug the harness from the door.. feed it back into the body and extract it from under the dash.. examine it for breakage... cracks,  pinched areas...

the autozone site has free wiring diagrams...   when you click to enlarge them...  they still are not totally visible.. you can then right click and open the image in a new window.. this lets you open it fully..

I have a similar problem with the drivers door - no power. I pulled the skin and checked for power to the door module. I see +12 volts on the large orange lead but I don't see ground anywhere in the door leads. Fuses are good (they are in the + side anyway). I tried looking for a schematic on Autozone with no luck. If I could just find the pinouts for the power leads to the control module, I could confirm the power loss theory. I sure don't want to buy a non-returnable control module if the problem is lack of power to the door. I assume the big black wire in the black connector with 5 wires is ground?? I'm beginning to think the only car I'll be happy with is one I build myself.

AZ was getting on me for posting links.. so i cut it out.. they have backed off as i send a lot of people to their stores..

i hope this helps....

i would really really think that a 10 buck investment in a logic probe would save a lot of electronics..

Thanks a bunch for the links. I looked at the schematic showing the window motor wiring. It's simple enough but I'm unsure how to interpret the connection assignments. For instance, it shows the window motor wires going to E C2 and C C3. Not sure how to translate those labels to specific connectors & pins. Do you know? I'm trying to find a way to raise the window even before I fix the ultimate problem. That way, the car can be driven (we are having rain).

oh.....

does the window motor still have just 2 wires on it...

then... you can unplug it ....

i have made my own set of test leads just for this...  with a pair of battery clips... on one end...  2 pointy probes on the other end...

i then use my battery jump box or a spare battery to power just the unplugged window motor...  trick.. you are going to have to unplug it from the module... so there is enough wire... as you normally cannot reach the motor directly..

here is a picture of the window lift motor.. you can see the connector at the bottom

http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/additional-prod-images/en/US/c15/42-1012/3/image/8/

i have not had one of these apart yet...

as for the connector numbers... there are usually really tiny numbers on the connector bodies on the module.. look for colors... or the wires that lead into the inside of the door to the motor......

most gm cars use the same connector on the motor...  so if you had time... you could get a junk yard connector.. and make a test lead that plugged directly in...  warning.. the windows can move fast... and remove fingers and really damage arms if you have your arms or hands in there ...
