Although technically a Chevy question, I have long sought to understand the reason behind my father's 55 chevy which he purchased new in California. I was interested to note that the "Corvette Copper" color, said to have been produced in maybe 15 '55 Vettes seems to be the same color as my dad's '55 Bel Air Sedan, but there is no reference to this color ever having been offered on 55 Chevys. Can anyone explain? The car was a single metallic "copper" color and, though rare, I did see one in Phoenix in the early 60's. The Harvest Gold color which was offered on Chevys in 55 has far too much yellow in it, the car was definitely copper colored.
