my 85 is running hot, this happened all of a sudden around the same time as my battery started going dead all the time...obviously the two are related, but what the *** is really going on? can any body give me any direction to look in?my waTER TEMP HAS RISEN AS HIGH AS 246F GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY!!! and my battery definately has some amp drawing on it but my meter says its putting out 13.5-14.2volts what the heck is going on?

check your electric cooling fan. A bad fan will create a bad draw on the battery, someitmes even when the car is shut off. Also check to make sure your fan is working.

I would say these two problems are separet .But i would adress the over heating problem first.When the car is at operating temp feel that all the hoses are hot a stuck closed thermostate could be the problem.
