I looked at a very nice '69 T-top today. I'm all set to buy it except it appears the VIN tag is gone. Shouldn't it be on the driver side windshield pillar? It looks like there is a notched part of the pillar trim where it would go. Is this true? I'm pretty sure I can get a new tag made if I can photograph the VIN that's stamped on the frame. Where on the frame is it stamped? Are there more than one place that it is stamped on the car? Is there more than one VIN tag on the car? The car has a legit title.
Body is very nice, slight shading (almost unnoticeable) on hood and 1 rear quarter. Frame is excellent. 350/350 w/4 speed. Daytona yellow/black. New interior. 98,000 miles. He wants $15,000. Is that fair if he can furnish the VIN tag? Would $10,000 be a fair offer without the VIN tag?
