POOR SERVICE FROM EVERY DEALER MY CAR HAS GONE TO. I AM IN LOS ANGELES, CA AND IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THRE ISNT A DEAER WHO CATERS TO VETTE OWNERS.
1. FIRST OIL CHANGE - MECHANIC USED IMPROPER FUNNEL TO ADD OIL, HE DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL HE HAD THE FUNNEL FILLED WITH 4 QUARTS OF OIL IT WASN'T DRAINING INTO THE DRYSUMP, THE FUNNEL WAS TO LARGE FOR THE HOLE AND IN TO DEEP STOPPING AIR FLOW. WHEN HE CHECKS TO SEE WHY HE SPILLS A QUART OR TWO ALL OVER MY DRY SUMP INTO THE WHEEL WELLS. THIS WAS HORRIBLE AND THE CLEAN UP WAS POOR AT BEST.
2. SAME TIME I ASKED FOR THE ALIGNMENT TO BE CHECKED, THE CAR VEERED TO LEFT EVERYWHERE YOU DRIVE.INVOICE SHOWS FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS DONE.
3. DIFFERENT DEALER - CHECK FOR OIL LEAK. OIL PAN GASKET WAS LEAKING. WHY SHOULD A NEW CAR LIKE A VETTE HAVE THIS PROBLEM, THEY KEEP THE CAR FOR 10 DAYS WITHOUT ME COMPLAINING, WHILE IT IS THERE I ASK FOR THE ALIGNMENT TO BE CHECKED AGAIN, AFTER THE OIL PAN GASKET IS FIXED, THE DEALER CALLS TO SAY THE CAR IS READY, I ASK THEM WHAT THEY FOUND WITH THE ALIGNMENT, SERVICE PERSON ACTS LIKE IT WASNT ASKED FOR . HE SAYS HE DOESN'T SHOW THE REQUEST ON HIS INVOICE . I FAX HIM MINE WHICH CLEARLY STATES ALIGNMENT WAS ASKED FOR. TWO MORE DAYS AND I PICK UP THE CAR. WITH IN A BLOCK IT IS OBVIOUS IT IS STILL NOT RIGHT. THIS IS RYDELL CHEVROLET IN THE VALLEY . ALSO THE CAR WAS CLEAN WHEN DROPPED OFF AND A CAR COVER WAS LEFT TO KEEP IT COVERED. IT CAME BACK FILTHY, POOR POOR SERVICE AGAIN.
4. THE DEALER SENDS ME A NOTICE STATING IF ANYTHING IS WRONG TO CALL. THIS IS FOR THEIR SURVEY IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
I CALLED AND LET THE SERVICE PERSON KNOW WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT THERE WORK HE SAID HE WOULD CALL ME BACK , IT NEVER HAPPENED. NO CALL.
5. CHEVY SENDS ME THE DREADED RECALL NOTICE FOR THE ROOF DELAMINATION PROBLEM (THE ROOF SEPERATES FROM THE CAR ) HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO TRUST THE DEALER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. I CAN IMAGINE THEIR FIX DUCT TAPE ANG THE WRONG SHADE OF RED. PLEASE HELP ME GET TO SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT GETTING GOOD SERVICE AND REPAIR ISSUES RESOLVED
6. THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT USED FROM A DEALER BACK EAST, THE CAR HAD 4000 MILES AND WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION. WHEN THE TRANSPORTER DROPPED OFF THE CAR I NOTICED A EMISSION LIGHT ON THE DASH. THE CAR DIDNT RUN RIGHT, IT STUMBLED ON POWER WHEN THE THROTTLE WAS PUNCHED, AS IF THE CHOKE WAS CLOSING ON A OLD CAR. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER SANTA MONICA CHEVROLET, THEY HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND AFTER TELLING ME THE SILICONE SPRAY,(FOR DETAILING) FOULED THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR , THEY REPLACED THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR AND FILTER AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME IT WAS LESS THAN 10 MINUTES LATER AND THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURED. BACK TO THE DEALER 2ND MASS AIRFLOW AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT, SAME PROBLEM AGAIN, AFTER LOOKING ON THE CORVETTE FORUM I FOUND A CORVETTE PERFORMANCE SHOP IN OXNARD ,CA. A&A CORVETTES, I CALLED THEM AND AFTER TALKING TO THEM MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A CHECKOUT OF THE CAR. IN LESS THAN FIFTEEN MINUTES THE PROBLEM WAS SOLVED. THE AIR CLEANER ASSY HAD A STICKER THAT WASN'T GLUED ON THREE SIDES ON THE INSIDE, I GUESS THIS IS TO STOP THE HEAT FROM THE RADIATOR , THIS LITTLE STICKER WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MY PROBLEMS. AIR FLOWED OVER THIS STICKER AND RAISED UP TO BLOCK THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR CAUSING A LEAN CONDITION OF THIRTY PERCENT. THE FACT CHEVROLET COULDN'T RESOLVE THIS IS A JOKE. A LAPTOP COMPUTER AND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO USE IT WAS ALL THAT WAS NEEDED.
TO END THIS STORY I WILL SAY I AM NOT RICH , BUT A HARD WORKING POOL MAN WHO SAVED HIS MONEY TO GET A DREAM CAR. THIS CAR IS A DREAM TO DRIVE IT IS FASTER THAN *** BUT SERVICE SUCKS BIG TIME. WHAT WOULD YOU DO.
ALSO THE ALIGNMENT WAS FIXED WHEN I CALLED DICK GULDSTRANDS SHOP AND HAD THEM PERFORM THE ALIGNMENT THE RIGHT WAY. THEY DIDN'T USE TRICK FOUR WHEEL ALIGHNMENT TOOLS JUST A TAPE MEASURE A FLAT BAR AND FOUR PIECES OF WOOD. THEY DROVE IT 8 TIMES TO CHECK IT AND DICK HIMSELF GAVE IT THE OK THAT IT DROVE RIGHT. IF YOU ASK ME CHEVROLET NEEDS VETTE ONLY MECHANICS NOT PARTS REPLACERS.
