Hi guys. You know your 96 LT-1 you've been upgrading?? Well,I have the exact same car, except with more miles.I'm wondering,do you still have the factory exhaust? I have a Borla cat-back on mine.I just got done reading your story about the programmer...I'm thinking of getting one soon.Anyway,I will be following your upgrades VERY closely. It makes me think to look in my driveway sometimes, since they're both alike,LOL!!!

Thanks for the question.
The car does, in fact, still have its stock exhaust system. Our next upgrade will involve the installation of Stainless Works long-tube headers, high-flow cats, and a converter-back exhaust system, all of which we expect to improve power and quarter-mile acceleration noticeably. Look for a story on the install and follow-up testing in the months ahead.

Hi Jay, On your '96 (in the article "Getting with the Program" Oct 2007), you mention having the car fitted with GS rear wheels. Are these the 11" wide wheels? I cannot tell for sure from the pictures. It looks like you are using these without the GS fender flares, and it looks good. What wheel offset do these have to allow them to fit flush with the fenders without flares? I have a '96 also and am interested in the wider wheels, but I do not want to add flares. Thanks for keeping the C4 alive!
