What can be done to prevent brake squeal?

One of the easiest ways is to use the Permatex anti-squeal material that you can get at any parts store. Apply it to the back of the brake pads. It acts as an insulator to prevent squeal.
Have you checked to make sure your pads aren't worn enough that the noise you hear is from the squealer clips?
