Question 1..in 92, was there a "true Lt1" Corvette? I noticed that some have different color door panels, such as drivers handle is black and red, pass handle all red....owner told me it was due to the above and designed to look like a cockpit...doors match just the armrests different color...normal? Question 2..My "new" vette is a 92 and I have a problem with it running hot when idling. Coolant is fine, no leaks anywhere...when you drive she is a comfortable 180 degrees, but at a red light she starts slowly climbing. The fans do come on, but not until 260, which she will get to if you leave her idling in very slow traffic

Question 1: The only other Vette motor in '92 was the ZR1 engine. All other Vettes had the L98. In 1993, the LT-1 made its debut (not to be confused with the LT1 of 1970 vintage). I've never heard of those interior accents on a '92, so I can't say what you're hearing is the truth, but I'm not 100% certain on that.
Question 2: If the fans aren't coming on until 260, then you might want to check/change the coolant temp sensor, which controls when the fans come on. Another possibility is the fans are coming on, but not spinning at a high enough speed to pull enoguh air to keep the engine cool. Yet a third idea is your radiator cap isn't keeping the system pressurized properly, and that's causing the overheating. This is solved by just installing a new radiator cap.
Yet a fourth possibility is the radiator is partially clogged. When was hte last time you did a good cooling system flush?
