I have a 1988 C4 coupe with 80k+ miles. I've been reading Vette Magazine for almost 3 years but haven't seen anything on the subject of changing the bushings. This is my first Vette and a life time dream car. I've been driving it and doing minor maintence on it for 3 years. I want to change my front bearings, bushings and shocks. It's a daily driver, I don't race it but once or twice a year on a road coarse for fun with local club members. My son and I are mechanically enclined and have plenty of tools in my garage. Just need to know some basics about what products might be better for the buck. And I can't think of any other place better to ask about it but right here at Vette. Thanks Terry in Lafayette La.

I'd go with polygraphite bushings for your front end. You'll see a definite ride and handling improvement with them.
Overall for parts I'd check out some of our advertisers like Energy Suspension in our magazine, go to their website or give them a call and tell them what you're looking for. I'd do the same for shocks.

I am road racing my '84 in the GT1 class. I'm using wide racing slicks and make about 500 HP.
My problem is that I keep breaking the front wheel hub assembly after very little racing time. I have broken the spindle, the bearing, the mounting plate, and the wheel mounting plate all at different times obviously.
Does anyone know of a stronger hub assembly solution?
