Long story short: In looking for a 4-bolt main small block, I stumbled on a 1990 C4 salvage. Block was rebuildable, and I got a great deal on the entire salvage including the working 4L60 and the front & rear suspension. Which leads me to the following inquiry:
Does anyone have any experience converting their C3 to use the front & rear suspension from a C4, what all it actually entails, overall difficulty, etc.? I know of Paul Newman's Car Creations which do conversions at least for the rear and only charges time/materials if the suspension is supplied, but the distance to his shop is of concern (cost of shipping, etc), and SRIII Motorsports that offers both front & rear conversions to original frames along with their new round tube-frames, but I've been unable to find pricing from them if the suspension is supplied. I was hoping my local shop would be willing to undertake the endeavor, but they have no knowledge on how to do such a conversion and wouldn't attempt it without detailed instruction beforehand. If anyone has any information on the actual process/work involved, I would appreciate it immensely!

I can't be too sure but I know what you're planning on doing will end up taking a lot of work. I think the whole process would (obviously) include removing the suspension, along with several other parts. It would be easier for you to just have a customizing shop do the job for you.
