Can anyone tell me which wire goes where on the starter solinoid?  My assembly manual calls for a purple wire. Mine does not have one.  It has 2 black and one red.

hi, just got finished installing new starter in my '81. your harness should have red which goes to big post on solinoid. small wire goes to small starter post on solinoid. black wires goes to ground on block where starter brace bolts to engine. other wire in harness goes to temp sending unit in head.
