I am the owener of a 2002 Corvette Coupe. Out the last 6 months every so often I put the key in the ignition and the car will not start. The lights and radio still work so it is not the battery. If I but the key in and try again a few minutes later it starts. I have taken the car to the Chevy dealership but they could not recreate the problem Does any one have any ideas which direction to look? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I'd first suspect the neutral safety switch was causing your problems.
When you turn the key, does the enigne turn over? You didn't mention that in your post.

Have you checked everything? The switches could be defective or damaged. Also, maybe there's something wrong with the transmission or something

i had the same problem on my 1986 corvette ,it was the key switch .the vat system did not recognize the code in the key and would shut the system down for 10 -15 mins then it would start the next time i tried it. corvette america sells a bypass switch you can use so you are not left stranded . it installes in minutes and works great..hope this helps
