I have a terrible ordor inside my car. Especially when I turn the air conditioner on
is there a filter that should be replaced. The car is a 2001.
I also have a 2005 STS and the dealer replaced an interior filter and thought my corvette may have same

If the smell happens when you turn the A/C on, this means that you've got some mold/mildew build-up on the condenser inside the car. This happens because of the moisture that collects around the condenser and stays inside the vents.
Most auto parts stores have a product you spray inside the vents that goes down into the condenser inside the dash and kills the mold/mildew that builds up inside the dash and causes that smell.
